College Night@the Giants Game

This is a little change of the norm since I usually write about popular food places....however I suppose you can still get your fix by getting a Giants hot dog at the game! College night at the Giants stadium is coming up on Friday May 28th and as its facebook page says "Start your weekend off right (or keep it going strong) with thousands of other Bay Area college students at the Giants' first College Night of 2010. All College Night special event ticket holders will have seats in the same sections of the bleachers, and the ticket price won't break the bank, even for a starving student." Sounds like a pretty good time if you ask me and according to the facebook group it looks like a lot of SSU students are planning to attend. So get some friends together and celebrate the end of finals and the start to an amazing and fun filled summer!!

Dollar Sushi

So last week my roommate suggested going to sushi. Of course, all of our responses were "no, it is too expensive..blah blah blah." Much to our surprise she said "No, it is dollar sushi night come on!!" And that is all I had to hear to fast for the rest of the day in order to endulge at dinner. I thought this was too good to be true, but it isn't. The only downfall is that it is at Hana sushi in Sebastopool. So yes, it is a bit of a drive, but totally worth it. Also, make sure you call ahead and put your name in because everyone in Sonoma County knows about this. The dollar special menu is offered only on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Sake and beer are also like half price. Although some of the extravagant rolls are necessarily $1, they are still reasonably priced around $5-7.

So, next time you are craving sushi and are short on cash, head to Hana in Sebastopool on Wednesday or Saturday-you've gotta check it out!

"Stumble upon"

So a little change from the norm of "food chat." I stumbled (pun intended) on an internet tool called "stumble upon" and immidiatly fell in love with it. You can customize your internet stumbles to whatever interests you-examples include news, fashion,animals,sex, movies etc.
I didn't know that they would let categories overlap but yesterday I stumbled onto horses having sex since two of my interest categories were animals and sex. YIKES!! However, the stumble tool is so great and a quick way to distract yourself from boring homework when you need a break.
So next time you're at your computer, you've gotta check out "Stumble upon!"

Lombardi's Deli

So, I was at school the other day and had the sudden craving for a sandwich. The Pub just wasn't gonna do it. I remembered that I had a flier at home for 10% off a sandwich and chips at Lombardi's right down the road. I ran home, grabbed the flier and drove to Lombardi's. It had been awhile since I last was at Lombardi's and boy did I miss it. I got a screamin deal for only $6.99 and loved every last bite of my gourmet turkey sandwich. I highly recommend checking out Lombardi's if you're hungry for a huge, filling and fresh sandwich. Not to mention, check it out especially if you have the flier for almost a dollar off.

So next time you're taking a stroll down East Cotati you won't miss the barbeque to the side of the road, with tons of smoke coming out and the smell of a fresh tri tip sandwich. You've gotta check out Lombardi's!

Work Out Classes @ the Gym

Even though the Rec Center's annual "Free Week" is over, you can still buy a semester pass for only $50. There are a variety of classes offered that are typically a small size and taught by a peer so you don't feel out of place! Some classes include Spin Classs, Abs/Buns/Thighs and core classes-all which leave you feeling exhausted and great about your workout. There are schedules posted around the Rec Center as well as on their facebook group. If you want to just try it out you can buy a "drop in" pass for only $5. However, if you are not totally obsessed with the classes you can still always just do your own routine at the gym for free-well included in student fees, so make use of the money and help your body feel great!
It is always nice to see the friendly staff at the front counter and your friends as they pass by you panting on the tredmill. The gym has become a part of a lot of SSU students' daily routine.

El Torito dollar taco night

So last night I went to my first ever dollar taco night at El Torito, and it won't be my last time. The atmosphere of the restaurant was so welcoming and energetic. Drinks were half price and your choice of carnitas,steak or chicken tacos were only one dollar each! Such a deal! The bar was full of college kids, lounging and having a good time. The taco station was a nice set up with a buffet style starting with your choice of tortilla, then onto meat and condiments. The feel of the restaurant was so much fun-I had to keep reminding myself it wasn't the weekend.
So if you and your friends are looking for a fun and cheap outing to get you through the week, then you've definitely gotta check out dollar taco night at El Torito
